Finally I meet Gretchen…

Tuesday, October 25th, 2005

Finally my hubby got an extra time to drive me to Gretchen’s home in Oak Harbor, I know its only 10 minutes away where he work at… the drive whew!!! with a toddler.

I was so excited yesterday afternoon that my hubby said  he will be able to drive us to Gretchen’s house . I was so excited got all the stuff ready for tomorrows travel the next day. Went to bed at 10 pm., only to be awaken at 11 pm with Bianca Ann’s screaming—scared what’s going on…run to her bedroom… she was crying hard and trying to pull her blanket off the bed to take to her parents bedroom. She’s been doing it lately… coming to our bed at dawn with "bitbit"—sometimes pillow, blanket or her toys. I have to put her back on her bed so we can both have a good sleep for an early ride with in 4 hrs. Billy woke me up at 4 am… did chek all the stuff again… Bianca Ann extra clothings, diapers and wipes, stuff for gretchen and food to feast in Gretchen house. Billy comments that looks like am going to spend a week in gretchen’s house with all my luggages. ;-)  Left the house around 5:30 am..Bianca Ann was on her pajama — got a thick blanket and pillow to keep her warm. We are supposed to eat breakfast with Billy but Bianca Ann got sick as soon we pass the Deception bridge—so we just went straight ahead to Gretchen’s house. Gret1 Gret2

Tear of a Woman..

Saturday, October 22nd, 2005

A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you
crying?" "Because I’m a woman," she told him."I don’t understand," he said. His Mom just hugged him
and said, "And you never will."

Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does
mother seem to cry for no reason? "All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man, still
wondering why women cry. Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, "God, why do women cry so easily?"

God said: "When I made the woman she had to be special. I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the
weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort.

I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth
and the rejection that many times comes from her children.

I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep
going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.

I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under
any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.

I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.

I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly. And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed."

"You see my son," said God, "the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."

* I got this from my bulletin board posted by my new earned friend Caroll, thought post it in my blog… makes me feel GOOD just reading. Cause I do usually shed a tear easily when, am down or feeling overwhelmed with all the housechores, people need to be please and the motherhood thingy. Life of being an adult Bow!!!*

230th U.S. Navy Birthday Ball

Wednesday, October 19th, 2005

Nvball05 Nvball057_1 Nvball056 As I said to Rissa that am not sure if I will be going to the Navy Ball last 15 Oct. saturday at 7 pm in whidbey Island–due to got I no gown that fits me no more— 3 of it I sent already to Phils. I did tried to fit my friend Sokhaley;s evening gown— my butt got bigger and  tried to look at few stores closer in our area— got no luck they got no size for me (homecoming parties had been going on too) So I thought there’s no way I will be able to make it to the ball. Here comes saturday while having breakfast I have been so depressed and sad..my hubby noticed it, he asked me what’s wrong—told him about the gown. See being a drama queen works ha? *wink* I choose to get one in Ross aside its closer, mura pa. Left for Ross at 11 am—got there deretso agad sa mga gown out of 7 na nagustuhan ko 2 lang ang nag-stand out. I picked the one I wear cause it looks elegant and love the color and the material kahit medyo mahaba ng 2 inches sa laylayan–the second gown I love it too kaya lang medyo mahaba ang spaghettti strap niya—need some quick alteration which I doubt will be able to fix it in short time— my brain reminded me we still need to stop by sa Everett base to drop laundry and get  gas, and Bianca Ann birthday party appt. at 1 pm in our neighborhood. Got home1 :15 pm— the party suppose to be a Halloween custome party I tried to put the lady bug custome to Bianca Ann ayaw—its one of the reason di pa ako bumibili ng custome niya kasi baka di niya su-utin when the time comes to wear it–sayang lang ang pera ko. Went to the kid birthday party…stayed there for 2 hrs…ayaw pa ngang umuwi ni Bianca Ann— get her stuff ready for an overnight stay with Sokhaley and started myself ready for the night.

We left the house around 4:30 pm and got in the base past 6 pm just on time for the cocktail. Oh boy when I felt the breeze it was freezing cold — I was in a hurry…cant wait to get inside the building and get warm. We were the first few couple who got there early… lots of lovely women in thier lovely gown. And guess what??? good thing I did not buy the other gown that I love— I saw maybe 5 to 7 ladies wearing of the same gown, same color and same design. But  I did not see anybody wearing same gown I wear that night. You could tell where WE all went shopping for a gown…he!he!he! Did I mentioned yet that there was few times na muntik na akong mapa-sub-sub dahil palagi kong naa-pakan ang gown ko dahil sa haba nito? *giggling* Billy and I just danced 3 times then head home at 9:30 pm for one and half hr drive.

My very first navy Ball was in Bahrain— the best thing in Bahrain is that you can have your gown made for you in a cheap price with good materials. I had 2 gowns that I design for myself while we were there— which they are both in Phils right now. Oh Navy Ball got a big place in my heart—it was 4 yrs ago; 26 Jan.01 —during the 226th U.S. Navy Birthday Ball—same occasion but different date  Billy on his knee… bribe  :-) /surpise me with a diamong ring… infront of an audience  to marry him. Its always nice to think back of those courting days… it makes me feel good, feeling ko ang ganda-ganda ko grabeh!!! And I said YES I will! to Billy…of course.

here’s of the cutest that keep me busy and challenged my motherhood skill…he!he!he! She start to act and talk just like her parents… I wonder why? It was a cold day I was putting away all the summer dresses and she saw this Strawberry pair of clothes—cant argue with her (sometimes..)she did wear this. She can say complete sentences now–most of it copied from us–of course. Just like "I want something else" and when she knows am upset— she would come to my face and say "I love you mommy—-baby happy! I would asked her how much you loved mommy/daddy— she would say…big much! up the moon, stars, rainbow and back…so sweet ha? hope they all stays like this. Of course she got her whining and crying days… she is still cute though.

Subject: FW: New Credit Card Scam.

WARNING…New Credit Card Scam.

Note, the callers do not ask for your card number; they already have
it.
This information is worth reading. By understanding how the VISA &
MasterCard Telephone Credit Card Scam works, you’ll be better
prepared
to protect yourself.

My husband was called on Wednesday from "VISA", and I was called on
Thursday from "MasterCard". The scam works like this: Person calling
says, "This is (name), and I’m  calling from the Security and Fraud
Department at VISA.  My badge number is 12460  Your card has been
flagged
for an unusual purchase pattern, and I’m calling to verify. This
would be on your
VISA card which was issued by (name of bank). Did you purchase an
Anti-Telemarketing Device for $497.99 from a Marketing company based
in Arizona?"
When you say "No", the caller continues with, "Then we will be
issuing
a credit to your account. This is a company we have been watching and
the charges range from $297 to $497, just under the $500 purchase
pattern
that flags most cards. Before your next statement, the credit will
be sent
to (gives you your address), is that correct?"

You say "yes". The caller continues - "I will be starting a Fraud
investigation.   If you have any questions, you should call the 1-800
number listed on the back of your card (1-800-VISA) and ask for
Security.
You will need to refer to this Control Number. The  caller then gives
you a 6 digit number. "Do you need me to read it again?"

Here’s the IMPORTANT part on how the scam works.  The caller then
says, "I need to verify you are in possession of your card".

He’ll ask you to "turn your card over and look for some numbers".
There are 7 numbers; the first 4 are part of your card number, the
next 3 are
the Security Numbers’ that verify you are the possessor of the card.
These are the numbers you sometimes use to make Internet purchases
to prove
you have the card.

The caller will ask you to read the 3 numbers to him. After you tell
the caller the 3 numbers, he’ll say, "That is correct, I just needed
to
verify that the card has not been lost or stolen, and that you still
have
your card. Do you have any other questions?"

After you say No, the caller then  thanks you and states, "Don’t
hesitate to call back if you do", and hangs up.

You actually say very little, and they never ask for or tell you the
Card number. But after we were called on Wednesday, we called back
within
20 minutes to ask a question. Are we glad we did! The REAL VISA
Security
Department told us it was a scam and in the last 15 minutes a new
purchase of $497.99 was charged to our card.

Long story made short - we made a real fraud report and closed the
VISA account. VISA is reissuing us a new number. What the scammers
want is the 3-digit PIN number on the back of the card. Don’t give
it to them.

Instead, tell them you’ll call VISA or Master card directly for
verification of their conversation.   The real VISA told us that they
will never ask for anything on the card as they already know the
information since they issued the card! If you give the scammers
your 3
Digit PIN
Number, you think you’re receiving a credit.    However, by the time
you get your statement you’ll see charges for purchases you didn’t
make,
and by then it’s almost to late and/or more difficult to actually
file a
fraud report.

What makes this more remarkable is that on Thursday, I got a call
from
a "Jason Richardson of MasterCard" with a word-for-word repeat of the
VISA scam. This time I didn’t let him finish. I hung up!

We filed a police report, as instructed by VISA. The police said they
are taking several of these reports daily! They also urged us to tell
everybody we know that this scam is happening.

Please pass this on to all your family and friends. By informing each
other, we protect each other
